Hello sun!

leave a comment »

Seattle has had some pretty nice days lately.

All I can say is, I’m pretty stoked to he able to eat my breakfast on the back porch. The sun has been making an appearance and the temperature is in the 50’s.

Yay, Seattle. Boo, global warming.

Happy September 1st!

I think our wonderful and strange Seattle summer is wrapping itself up. A second ago, it was pouring down rain!

I’m happy for fall!

I’ll go find my scarf if someone will pour me a porter!

Seattle loves spring days, in spring!

Today was a wonderful 68°! I sat outside and got some sun on those tatas!

This is quite pleasant considering it was snowing on 4 days ago.

Welcome spring, please stay a while. Seattle needs you.

Winter is gray.

leave a comment »

Yay winter. 63 days left.

Today is supposed to have a high of 42°. Um, it’s after 1pm and its only 35°. Why do they bother to predict the weather in the Seattle area?

Speaking of winter. I love winter and all the gray. But, with winter comes all the talk of weight loss, depression and budgeting. Blah. Yup, I’m doing the whole weight loss and work out bit but I have been since May. Yup, I have depression, I have since I was a kiddo. Budget, yeah I need to… my hours at work have been not so super.  Seriously? This is why I don’t watch a lot of tv. I have a mixed relationship with advertising.

I’ll only blog about weight loss. For some reason I don’t find it to be a private as depression and how much I do not have in my checking account. Besides, its the only 1 out of the 3 you can see.

I lost 1.6 pounds last week, only 4 more to get to where I was back in November. Super.

Oh Christmas summary…

leave a comment »

Oh Christmas, I’m glad you are over.

Oh Mom and Dad, thank you for the camera.

Oh Kevin, thank you for the Dr. Martens.

Oh aunt, I think your opinion of Seattle is a little off considering you don’t live in the same county… I have no sympathy for people living on steep hills… I am also one of them. I got rides to work. I have blisters on my palms from digging out my driveway and car. I don’t have chains for my car. And I admit I have no one to blame but myself. Most times, you are a bit much. And yes, we feed our dog.

Oh new running shoes, I can’t wait to use you!

Oh mom, you really need to learn to cook pork better.

Oh Napa, I can’t wait to visit you.

Oh snow. I’m glad you are melting

Oh 2008, I’m glad you are over next week!

And finally, oh Weight Watchers… man I’ve fucked about for the past 2 months. I’m done with the excuses.

Why do people like white christmases?

leave a comment »

Winter is here, and what is the best way to start it? Snow, snow, freezing temperatures and more snow. Seriously, more snow? The weather has been insane for something like a week.

Seattle hasn’t seen snow like this since 1990. See grandma, I don’t have to decorate for Christmas… nature did it for me.

In other awesome news, Kevin and I both have colds.

For the love of dogs…

leave a comment »

Yesterday while Kevin and his brother in law wired the house for cable, I took Desirae and the mutts to the dog park. She was blown away by how big it was and how much space there was for her dog to run. We go to Westcrest which I must admit is a bigger one, totaling 5 acres.

There are no dog parks or off leash area in Olympia, Lacey, or Tumwater. There is only one in Tacoma and one in Lakewood. Seattle has 11. Redmond , Mercer Island, Edmonds and SeaTac all have one. O rly?

Seriously people! We need more dog parks! For the dogs! And for the humans.

SODA and COLA are great things for dog parks in King County. You other counties, get your stuff together and get a dog park. Some people live in apartments and their dogs need to get out. Some people like to take their dogs to the park to socialize them. And some people just like to take their dogs to the park so their dogs can just be a dog in a large enclosed space.

Dogs love parks just as much as dogs love trucks.

Oh Seattle…why all the hype?

leave a comment »

According to a Yahoo Real Estate article, Seattle is becoming a 24 hour city?

Really? Where is there a Target open 24 hours a day? Where can you find a decent meal 24 a day that doesn’t cost a small fortune or consists of 6 eggs? A great 24 hour coffee shop other than a crappy drive thru Starbucks?

Or better yet, can a get an amazing hamburger some place in this damn city that doesn’t require a huge ass wait in the smallest building in Ballard with weird hours? Um, no. All of you people who think Dick’s is the best, your taste buds are broken.

If you’re going to write about Seattle, maybe you should live here. I still don’t understand the hype of this city and I’ve lived in this area for 27 years.

Today it was something like 80ish degrees.

A Saturday off!

leave a comment »

mmm, today included a Theo Chocolate tour and lunch at Tawon Thai. Free chocolate samples and a total carbohydrate lover’s dream!
(it’s 5:05, I’m stuffed still! And out of points.)

I find it strange that people ask how I managed to get a Saturday off, the same way they could… ask for it off. Dummies. Although, the person who asked that seemed the most put off by it has only been with the company for less than 6 months. She can’t use any vacation time yet and is at the bottom of the seniority list. I on the other hand get a day of vacation each paycheck and have 6 years of seniority over her. I can afford to take a random day off here and there.

I have at least 100 vacation hours and probably at least 100 of sick time. And I’ve probably used at least 25 to 30 hours of both in the past 5 months.

quit yur bitchin.

leave a comment »

Today was March 28th.
1 week ago was the first day of spring.
It snowed today.
In Seattle.

Stranger things have happened, folks
Like Christmas comes every summer to Costco starting in August.

Anyway. People were bitching about it all afternoon. I find this kind of silly considering the fact that it also snows in the fall. Seattle gets snow in November and last time I checked, winter didn’t start until December. If we get snow early, we can also get snow late.

Shut it.
