Taxman cometh, but not soon enough…

leave a comment »

SO.

I did my taxes. I’m getting some $$ back.

I’m buying a new netbook next week and boy am I stoked. My old lappy had some issues and then the wireless card died and that was that. I’m also hoping that a new lappy will have a slot for my memory card out of my camera. I’ll be able to upload pictures much faster. I’ll be able to blog like a person would have in 2009.

I’m also leaving T-Mobile in the dust to join on the Kevin’s AT&T plan, family time I guess? But, when jumping over to them, I can get an iPhone. I’m pretty stoked about this as well.

I doubt that I’ll be posting between now and then, I’m not using my own computer and it’s a pain. I’ll post something new the second I get my new lappy up and running.

Cheers.

Oh Facebook…

I hate how some people use their Facebook status updates to tell you how much they hate their job… every day they are at work. Have some class. Deal with it or quit.

Seattle has had some pretty nice days lately.

All I can say is, I’m pretty stoked to he able to eat my breakfast on the back porch. The sun has been making an appearance and the temperature is in the 50’s.

Yay, Seattle. Boo, global warming.

Love List 1.14.10

leave a comment »

I haven’t posted in a while for many reasons.

  • laziness
  • lack of my wireless lap top
  • crazy work schedule
  • x, y, and z.

But any way… I thought I’d do a food/healthy stuff I love post.

THINGS I LOVE.

  • Kevin. He puts up with all of my moods and gloominess and whatever.
  • Abigail. She gets super excited to go on walks with me.
  • Seward Park. One walk around the lower loop is 2.5 miles.
  • Starbuck’s Via. I love coffee! But, I was drinking to much. Make a pot, drink a pot! I have gone to mostly 1 cup a day just by using these.
  • Lucy Vital Pants. I’m craving some other pants that I can’t afford… but I’ve worn these for years and have them in long and cropped. They’re pretty flattering compared to some other workout pants I own. I was even able to get the cropped for $19.99 in the late fall.
  • Oats. I love oatmeal. I’ve eaten it almost every morning since October.
  • Agave syrup. I switched to agave in October. I use it in my oatmeal. This helps cut the sugar craving.
  • Yogi teas. Since I’m trying not to down gallons of coffee, I’ve switched to tea. I love the taste of their Detox tea!
  • Water. Stay hydrated!
  • Lara Bars. Gluten and soy free!
  • Toes stretchers. Hahah, these crack me up! But, I’m a near 32 year old who still adores her narrow Converse.
  • 5 HTP. I take this stuff instead of anti-anxiety and anti depression meds.
  • Smart Wool. Expensive but worth it wool socks that prevent ME from getting blisters!
  • Broccoli. I can eat a big ass bowl of this for a meal and call it good.
  • Quinoa. I love this stuff because it is full of protein and a great pasta and rice alternative.
  • Desert Essence Thoroughly Clean Face Wash. Washes the face without over drying.
  • Weight Watchers. Yep, I’m no longer doing WW but did for 1 1/2 years. I lost weight but basically it gave me skills and taught me how to eat like an adult.
  • The Daily Plate. I’m now using this to count calories.
  • Walking. This is the easiest exercise anyone can do!
  • Yoga! Yoga makes me happy and flexible and renewed.
  • Google Reader. I use this to read blog about people who inspire me.
  • Co-ops. I work at one, and it is rad! Great produce, great bulk items, and usually, pretty amazing folks.
  • Healthy self esteem. I have plenty of moments of “woe is me, my life could be better if, I wish I was ______ and I should be more motivated…” but for the most part I like me. I’m pretty true to myself and I’m pretty okay with being eclectic. Life is nicer when you are nicer to yourself and you accept who you really are.
  • Check lists/to-do lists. Seriously. I track things I want/need to do to keep me going! I like to be able to look at a tracking sheet and see I’ve had my greens everyday for a week, that I haven’t had soda for 2 weeks and when was the last time I washed my hair.
  • Amazing Greens. Wow, I love this stuff. I drink the chocolate with coconut milk, I swear it tastes like chocolate milk!

Wow, I could have gone on and on but I told myself I was going to do a Pilates DVD at 12, so I am off.

XOXOX

Planning for 2010.

with one comment

Hello 2010!

I’m kinda late on making my New Year’s post, oh well.

So the last 10 years where sort of insane! They kinda went like this:

  • moved to Olympia
  • retard for a president
  • was engaged but had my heart smashed to bits
  • went to massage school
  • went to California for a family reunion
  • 9/11/01
  • left Olympia
  • took Paxil, got fat
  • started working at a co-op
  • worked at a shitty spa
  • bought a brand new car
  • got in debt
  • had someone else’s eviction on my credit history
  • dated losers
  • dated people who were nice but not my type
  • worked way to much
  • burnt bridges
  • got my depression and anxiety under control without the help of doctors
  • met Kevin and moved in with him pretty much the same month
  • went to Savannah and Charleston
  • had a miscarriage
  • got an IUD
  • paid off all but 1 student loan
  • stopped massaging professional
  • moved into a house with a possibility for buying it
  • went to Napa Valley
  • walked 5 5ks!
  • still working at the co-op with a job I love
  • finally got added to the bonus group at work
  • started yoga again
  • was 195lbs for the first time since 2001

Weeee! Blah. It wasn’t so bad I suppose, but it wasn’t very fun and very stressful for very long stretches.

Whatever.

I’m not really a resolution maker but here are some thoughts for 2010:

  • more yoga! I want to try to go 2 times a week and do stretches at home.
  • spend at least 10 minutes a day cleaning
  • stick to my wheat free diet. I’ve been pretty good about this since August, and I feel good without wheat.
  • keep eating well and lose weight… still
  • pay off both of my credit cards. This isn’t hard, I owe about $1000
  • save for and buy a new laptop
  • start running
  • stick to tracking the things I want to achieve
  • reconnect with old friends
  • save save save for a down payment on a house
