Oh Christmas summary…

leave a comment »

Oh Christmas, I’m glad you are over.

Oh Mom and Dad, thank you for the camera.

Oh Kevin, thank you for the Dr. Martens.

Oh aunt, I think your opinion of Seattle is a little off considering you don’t live in the same county… I have no sympathy for people living on steep hills… I am also one of them. I got rides to work. I have blisters on my palms from digging out my driveway and car. I don’t have chains for my car. And I admit I have no one to blame but myself. Most times, you are a bit much. And yes, we feed our dog.

Oh new running shoes, I can’t wait to use you!

Oh mom, you really need to learn to cook pork better.

Oh Napa, I can’t wait to visit you.

Oh snow. I’m glad you are melting

Oh 2008, I’m glad you are over next week!

And finally, oh Weight Watchers… man I’ve fucked about for the past 2 months. I’m done with the excuses.

Holy geez, hello winter!! Cold and more cold! More snow is predicted for tonight, tomorrow and Christmas day… with rain to follow.

Kevin and I were sick for the past 2 days. I’m ready to leave the house now! But, I can’t back out of our driveway due to the big ridge of snow left by a plow, lack of a shovel, lack of chains and my weak Civic.

Hmm. 2008, you were so crazy and seems like you might be that way until the last day.  But I might still love you… when I can look back and laugh.

Why do people like white christmases?

leave a comment »

Winter is here, and what is the best way to start it? Snow, snow, freezing temperatures and more snow. Seriously, more snow? The weather has been insane for something like a week.

Seattle hasn’t seen snow like this since 1990. See grandma, I don’t have to decorate for Christmas… nature did it for me.

In other awesome news, Kevin and I both have colds.

THINGS I DO NOT LOVE.

  • slow wireless internet connections?
  • a dog on my next door neighbor’s back porch, on a blanket with food and water dishes near by. NO ONE LIVES THERE! The little old lady who owns it is in a home and her daughter tends to the yard. Um, excuse me? Hi yes, this dog needs to be inside more than outside. It has shorter hair and it is 40 degrees outside! RUDE!! Poor older thing. Who do you belong to?! Why are they being so rude to you? I’d help you if I could be you seem to be locked in the yard? If you are still there tonight, I’ll talk to Kevin about it and we’ll see what we can do. Don’t die, you look old. I ran about to do errands and when I came home the dog on the porch was no longer there.

Drinking isn’t against the law if you’re over 21….

leave a comment »

You really should have a drink today… seriously.

Today is the the 75th Anniversary of the Ratification of the 21st Amendment (the end of Prohibition,) December 5th.

If you’re an American, be a Constitutionalist and have a drink. A beer. A shot. A glass of wine. Bottoms up!!

Please be smart about it. If you have a serious problem with alcohol, I also advice you to look deep in yourself and see if you need help. I’m one of the few in my family that doesn’t have an obsessive gene involving alcohol. I have depression and anxiety instead.

Dear dog-

leave a comment »

Abigail aka dog-

Yes, that was the furnace that turned off… thank you for barking. If you really feel that someone might be entering the house, jump off the bed and go look. Dummy. I know you are still a little unsure about this new little house but yeah… sitting on the bed and barking isn’t nearly as effective as you think. But, I’m glad that our bed has become your safe spot. You’re so cute and a pretty good dog, way to be. In a bit we’ll go get coffee and I’ll make sure the lady gives you a biscuit or 2.
